Glass Bevel Bonding

Glass bevels are used in decorative glass assembly to create a prismatic effect in windows, doors, and lighting. The bevel itself is thick glass, with edges that have been ground and polished to form obtuse angles to refract light. The bevels are typically attached to flat glass or leaded glass panels with adhesive. As the assembled glass can be used in exterior windows, doors, etc., the adhesive must be able to survive harsh environments for an incredibly long duration.

Panacol-USA has developed a family of bevel bonding adhesives just for this purpose. These adhesives have been in use for many years, and have accumulated real-time performance data which surpasses customer expectations. They survive environmental stresses that include moisture, humidity, and thermal cycling, and remain optically clear to provide maximum transmission of light.

Panacol-USA bevel bonders cure (harden) with low intensity UV/Visible light, making bevel assembly an incredibly fast process. LEDcure adhesives are included in Panacol-USA’s product selection for bevel bonding. LEDcure products from Panacol-USA fully cure in fractions of a second under low intensity UV/visible or Visible light. They are ideal for use with LED light curing equipment.

The adhesives are solvent-free, and single component for easy dispensing. The bevel bonding adhesive family offers several viscosity options to better accommodate a variety of bevel configurations and assembly processes.
